Strategic Support for the ICT Department

Engaged by The Royal Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Shaw Consulting directly supported the CIO in strategic activities including:

Negotiation and development of the business case for a multi agency Microsoft agreement for a range of software licences to reduce costs, keep products current and support home computing needs
Development of the IT business plan for 2007/2008 and the IT budgets for the same year
Review of the IT department’s organisation structure and governance model and recommendations of a revised operating structure including an IT Project Management Office to emphasise the need for stronger business engagement and portfolio planning incorporating an ITIL footprint
Development of new position descriptions and KPI’s for new leadership roles and the recruitment of these positions
Development of a collaborative model to ensure meaningful integration between interdependent responsibilities.
