Lisa Shaw – Managing Director

Overview

Lisa Shaw, the Managing Director of Hamilton Shaw Consulting is a results oriented, hands on consultant with an outstanding track record. Operating as a qualified CPA with over 23 years commercial experience, Lisa has worked across a variety of industries including IT, telecommunications, manufacturing, resources, health, transport and logistics and professional services. She has assisted both outsourcing vendors and customers in a wide range of projects valued over five billion USD, including significant projects in Australia, New Zealand and North America.

Financial modelling is one of Lisa's foremost strengths. Whether modelling a client's internal base case or a provider's cost basis, her experience and IP in this area delivers not only rigorous decision support data, but also layers analysis and interpretation that can make millions of dollars' of difference to a transaction. The models developed aid clients in the identification of areas for internal process improvement as well as the negotiation and execution of external transactions. On a net basis, Lisa's contribution to a transaction can both save the customer money and increase the provider's profit, making for a more fruitful and sustainable relationship for both sides.

Lisa brings a particular focus on process and methodology. She holds the Manager’s Certificate in ITIL, has substantial expertise with ABC and process modelling/re-engineering. She has a particular interest in how strong methodologies can be combined, but is practical and straightforward in her approach with significant concern for the effect of her work on employees and affected staff.

Lisa brings a strong training / coaching / mentoring ethic to her professional advising and is careful to ensure that her teams grow personally, develop professionally and are well supported throughout the engagement. She is uncompromising in her achievement of client-focused outcomes but is warm and supportive in her personal interactions.

History

Prior to founding Hamilton Shaw Consulting, Lisa worked in a number of roles including:

Senior Consultant with Galt Business Services assisting on developing and implementing an IT Strategy and outsourcing arrangement for a major telco in Australia and NZ;
IT Commercial Manager for the leading contact centre outsourcer UCMS;
Consultant for PA Consulting assisting outsourcing transactions and subsequent transitional management for a major airline company in the US;
Senior Financial Analyst with BHP Billiton in a number of divisions, including BHP Corporate - Global IT Sourcing, BHP Information Technology and BHP Steel - Sheet and Coil Products.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Commerce, with Merit (Accountancy) from the University of Wollongong, is an accredited CPA IT Specialist and holds a Manager’s Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) from the British Computer Society.
